Protect Plumpton - Take Action Now to Stop Noland Development!

Last summer, Lewes District Council rejected an application for planning permission to build up to 86 houses on the site of Nolands Farm in Plumpton Green - with over 300 objections made by local residents. The developers are now appealing this decision and we need you to lodge your objections to the Planning Inspectorate by 25 July at the latest here.

The Nolands Farm site sits next to the Eton College land where they propose building a 3,250-house new town.

If allowed to go ahead, it could set a precedent for building on greenfield sites locally and make it easier for the Eton proposal to gain traction.

Key points you might like to mention in your objection:

  • A democratic choice was made locally to refuse the application by Lewes District Council in December 2021. This should be respected

  • Plumpton Green already has 70 new houses planned through its neighbourhood plan or infill

  • Infrastructure (sewer, roads, etc.) cannot cope with what is planned - it struggles with existing numbers of housing as it is!

  • Over 200 parking spaces included in the proposal shows that it will be car dependent and that claims of sustainability made by the developers are bogus.

Lewes District Council will be defending its decision to refuse permission, but please support them by getting your comments in before the deadline of 25 July.

You may have other reasons to object so please make Lewes District Council aware of these and please share with donturbanisethedowns@gmail.com
